Privacy policy

Reminded (“we”, “us”) provides expiry and renewal reminders at getreminded.app and app.getreminded.app. This policy explains what personal data we process and why.
Who is responsible
The service is operated by the Reminded project. For privacy requests contact [email protected].
What we collect
- Account: email address and a hashed password.
- Profile preferences: timezone, digest hour, default reminder offsets, whether email reminders are on.
- Records you create: names, providers, dates, notice periods, costs, billing details, notes, status.
- Operational data: reminder send ledger (to avoid duplicate emails), basic server logs needed to run and secure the service.
There is nowhere to upload a file, and we never ask for document or policy numbers. Reminded stores the dates, not the documents. The note field is free text and optional; put in only what you need to recognise the record.
Why we process it
- To create and maintain your account (contract / legitimate interest in providing the service you requested).
- To show your dashboard and send the reminder emails you configure.
- To let you export or delete your data.
- To keep the service secure and reliable (abuse prevention, backups, error diagnosis).
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your records for advertising.
Where data is stored and who helps us
- Application data is stored on infrastructure we control.
- Email delivery uses our email provider (currently Resend) to send verification, password reset and reminder messages to the address you registered.
- The public marketing site may use privacy-oriented analytics that does not sell personal profiles; see the script configuration on the site if enabled.
Backups of application data are encrypted. Database access for day-to-day product use is scoped so each signed-in user only reaches their own records.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and records while the account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your user record and cascaded items and reminder history from the live database. Encrypted backups may retain residual copies until they rotate out of the backup window.
Your choices
- Export: CSV or JSON from Settings in the app.
- Delete account: Settings → Delete account (type DELETE to confirm). This is permanent.
- Email: turn off reminder emails in Settings, or use unsubscribe / contact us.
- Access / correction: edit records in the app, or email us.
If you are in the UK or EEA you may also have rights to restrict processing, object, or complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, email verification before login, and per-user API rules at the database. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; protect your password.
Children
Reminded is not directed at children under 16. Do not create an account for a child.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes may also be noted in the app or by email.
